I am a Research Fellow at the Net Zero Industrial Policy Lab at Johns Hopkins University. I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University and an M.A. in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago.
My research spans the origins of state capacity, democracy, and industrial development, with an empirical focus on Latin America. My work, "Varieties of State-Building: Ecology, Clientelism, and Bureaucratic Rule in Chile," was recently published in Perspectives on Politics.
Beyond academia, I have held research roles at Chile's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the University of Chicago, the WZB Social Science Research Center, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
